    A 2-year-old springer spaniel named Chips is the latest advance in arson detection for the Ceres Fire Department. Chips joined the department last week. He's specially trained to search through ash and rubble and to sniff out accelerants. He was donated by Fire Dogs, a charity arm of Ceres-based adjusting firm Concordia Claims Managers.
